Pros: The video and graphics are lightyears ahead of the competition for a netbook for this price. Played back 720p on YouTube with no problem. Played back 1080p video files with not a hiccup. It comes with an HDMI out and three USB outs.

I was looking for something simple, a lightweight word processor with a standard-sized keyboard and modest sized screen. For this price this has worked out perfectly for me. I’m mildly annoyed by the touchpad’s sensitivity, but otherwise it’s done everything I’ve asked of it. Would buy again and recommend to friends.

Acer Aspire AO532h-2806 10.1-Inch Netbook (Amethyst Purple) Review

This is a good, basic netbook which is ideal for travel. The overall quality, features and battery time are very good for the price. The only drawbacks are that it occasionally crashes and the multi-gesture touchpad does not seem to work nearly as well as it is supposed to. (I think it would work better for a person with small fingers, which I don’t have. There are three USB ports, which are more than adequate. Overall, I am very pleased with this netbook, especially considering the cost.

We got our Z520 yesterday. It is as small and as light as they say it is. Works fine.

When looking at mini notebook computers, sooner or later you will run across the Acer Aspire One AOD250 in its various configurations. This little netbook makes a great computer for a student or businessman who simply needs to keep in touch via email, do word processing or spreadsheets, or to surf the web.

However, in late 2009 Acer came out with a version that double-boots with Android. If you are an Android lover this could be very good news. It also comes with the Windows 7 starter.

The Acer 5542G is the company’s replacement model for it’s very popular 5536/5536G series. The new model comes with an improved processor and a whole new Tigris platform. It was after more than a week’s wait and phone calls that I got hold of one Acer Aspire 5542G. From the moment I read the specification sheet, I have been very thrilled to get the machine in my hands. The specs boasts about a AMD Turion II 2.2 Ghz, 3GB DDR2 Memory, ATI 4570 Dedicated graphics card with a 512MB DDR3 memory and a quite generous 320GB Hard disk drive for a price tag of less than RS 34000, which is quite a tempting deal.
