I purchased this model after several days of reading review and research and I’m glad I’ve picked a right one. This was my christmas gift for my daughter who just entered a high school and wanted computer she could carry with her in her backpack. This model has very long lasting battery and window 7 works great without any of vista’s problems. It has been 2 months now since her school started and not once she wanted any help with the computer. I was initially impressed with the speed,fit and finish and the graphic. My daughter loves using the camera chatting with her friends while doing her homework. The skype and youtube works great. All in all I have no complaint about this model at all.

I got this for my wife as a gift. It’s a nice lightweight machine. My complains are it comes with a lot of shovelware (unnecessary programs that hog resources.) Some examples of this were both Norton and McAfee were installed. I replaced those with Windows Essentials. There were some games, some acer utilities, adobe reader (i prefer foxit reader.) I removed all of that and the machine was much snappier. It wouldn’t have been reasonable to expect a beginner user to do that, so if you’re buying this for someone and you have some computer know how, you should boot it first to get it cleaned up to run best. Windows 7 starter is absolutely fine. The primary limitations are the wallpaper not being able to change and file sharing is minimalistic. I had no problems connecting this to a wireless printer / scanner, connecting to multiple wireless networks. I used google chrome to play netflix and hulu and they both displayed without skips or poor rendering. Google docs worked just fine. The screen and the mouse take a little getting used to but nothing that cannot be overcome.

I am very happy with this product. Processing is a little slow, but I’m using it for email and internet access only. I did find the battery only lasts about 2 hours, but other that, it met my expectations.

Just bought this netbook, and when I booted it up for the first time an error message popped up. The error message said it wasn’t able to connect to a disc and to push Ctrl-Alt-Del when the disc was properly connected. Since then, I’ve always had to push Ctrl-Alt-Del in order to start up the computer. It’s quite a hassle.

Okay, netbooks don’t have DVD or CD burners and generally have less memory and RAM than other laptops. That being said, this is an excellent netbook. This comes with Windows 7 Starter which is a huge improvement over Vista and is as good as or better than windows XP. This netbook is easily upgradeable to 2 GB RAM and though I haven’t found any need to upgrade it performance-wise I am going to stick an extra 1GB in it. Acer is a quality brand and is very affordable and the colors of this little netbook make it cooler than the average black ones out there. If you don’t mind the screen size, don’t need/want a DVD or CD drive then this is perfect. Homework, internet browsing and general apps all run well on it.
